Application

GLOBE has developed specially for winch and hoist applications a braked air motor set. The unit has a robust GLOBE vane motor with an fail safe BN brake and a proportional directional control valve.
The vane motor is of robust design and very good for harsh conditions. The BN brake is a spring loaded, air release failsafe brake. The holding torque is 1,5 to 2 time the maximum torque of the motor.
On top of the motor a proportional control valve is mounted. It can be a proportional remote control valve of a proportional hand control valve. The proportional valve controls the direction and speed of the motor.
The brake is released with pipelines from the proportional control valve. The unit is designed that the motor is under pressure before the brake is released.

As standard the proportional valves can be supplied with either Equal Power of Biased Power spools, the latter is suitable for hoisting applications. The motor will have maximum power in lifting and reduced power in lowering. Because of the biased valve the load will not pull the motor in over speed in lowering direction.

The air motor unit confirms to European Standard NEN-EN 13463-1 for non-electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres ATEX GROUP II cat 2 GDc T4.

GLOBE Vane Air Motor

GLOBE Proportional Remote Controlled Valve (RCV) or
Hand Control Valve (HCV):

• High flow design for low back pressure;
• Frictionless matched spool and sleeve;

Nickel-Plated vane Airmotors


The GLOBE vane air motors are used in a wide variety of applications like mixers, ventilators, winches, pump drives, after coolers and conveyor belts. The current range of vane air motors are now also available in Nickel-Plated. All metal components, outside and inside are 100% nickel-plated.

Building the motors nickel-plated has multiple benefits:
• Corrosion resistant
• Longer life expectancy of vanes.

Adding these extra advantages to the current line of the Globe vane air motors raises the life expectancy of the motors and makes them even more reliable.

GLOBE RM-004R Non magnetic piston air motor

The GLOBE compact piston air motors have specific features not found in other air motors. Unique is the low speed of rotation in combination with a high torque, without the use of a gearbox. These motors are used in situations in which normally air motors aren’t used. Typical applications are winding machines, dosing machines, conveyor belts, mixers, manipulators and machines for the food industry.

Besides the already existing advantages that these motors have, the new RM-004R will have special benefits making the motor usable in more challenging environments.
The RM-004R is available in a non-magnetic materials which makes it applicable in high magnetic fields such as MRI scanners.

GLOBE RM-012 Compact Piston Motor

The GLOBE compact piston air motors have specific features not found in other air motors. Unique is the low speed of rotation in combination with a high torque, without the use of a gearbox. These motors are used in situations in which normally air motors aren’t used. Typical applications are winding machines, dosing machines, conveyor belts, mixers, manipulators and machines for the food industry.

The RM-012 is a new type of motor that has all the benefits of the existing GLOBE compact piston air motors. This new motor has twelve cylinders making it able for the motor to run with a very high torque at a low rotation speed. An other benefit of this motor is the possibility to run it without lubrication. Adding a special bearing to the motor makes it possible to use the motor in special mixing applications.
